Q-Mux ID Modules

The Q-Mux is a low cost multiplex system.  Two wires are used to power the IDM sensor modules (i.e.. Q-1C, Q-1A, Q-1CL, Q-1R, Q-I/O, Q-EOL,Q-SNP-RLY and Q-SNP-EOL) to send commands to the modules and receive their data.  Commands from the Q-Mux Node to the ID modules take the form of modulating Buss voltages between 0 and 10v.  The data returned from the modules is increased Buss current.

Each Q-Mux node can control up to 99 mix/matched IDM modules.  Up to 32 Q-Mux Nodes may be used in one system.  Total range of the Q-Mux system is 5,000 feet from the System 3505 PRISM LX to the last Q-Mux Node and 5,000 feet from the Q-Mux Node to the last ID module.  ID modules may be set to any address from one to 99.  ID addresses are stored on an internal EEPROM and can be changed by the Q-Mux Programmer (P/N 425184-0002).

The Q-Mux Option (P/N 010001-0094) or Q-Mux option w/32 Line Driver Rack P/N 010001-0099 and a minimum of one Q-Mux node (P/N 425190-0001) are required for the System 3505 PRISM LX.

Ethernet connectivity is available utilizing the Alarm-LAN option and VersAlarm controller to monitor the TCU-8 Nodes and IDM devices.  The SYSTEM 3505 PRISM LX must first be equipped with AlarmLan (P/N 020001-0121) and the desired number of VersAlarm, Q-MUX and IDM devices.  Using VersAlarm, the Prism LX can monitor 999 VersAlarm units and each unit can monitor 32 Nodes for a total of over three million IDM monitor or sensor points.

Each identification module (IDM) contains a processor, ROM, RAM, and EEPROM for field updating of variables such as addresses, etc.

All Q-MUX Products are ETL Listed and CSFM Approved

The IDM modules include:

Dsc00267a Q-EOL:  Addressable module for monitoring dry contact closure. Requires user supplied 1.43 K-ohms resistor for supervision across input contacts. This is the required module for monitoring fire alarm contacts.
Q1R Q-1R: Q-1R Addressable module that provides magnetically latching relay contact output under control of the System 3505 Prism LX (relay control option required) via Q-Mux Node. Relay activation is maintained without power. If Q-Mux system is reset, relay will return to Normal state
Dsc00269a Q-1C: Digital addressable module for monitoring dry contact closure. EOL resistor not required.
Dsc00266a Q-I/O: Addressable module that combines features of the Q-1C with an open collector output transistor that may be used to control an indicator LED. EOL resistor not required

Q-1CL: Latching addressable module for monitoring fast-acting momentary dry contacts. EOL resistor not required    .

Q-SNP-RLY IDM MGNTC LTCH FORM C: The addressable Q-SNP-RLY provides a relay contact output under control of the Q-Mux Node.  To minimize the current draw from the Q-Mux Buss, a latching relay is used.  Power for switching the relay is stored in a capacitor in the module, thus dampening any disturbance to the Buss that could occur during relay switching.  When polled, the Q-SNP-RLY returns data at its address.  The data represents one of three states - relay contact Open, relay contact Closed, or Trouble (module malfunction).  The relay is rated at .5A 125 VAC or 1 amps, 24 VDC.

NOTE:  Whenever the SYSTEM 3505 Prism LX or the Q-Mux Node is powered up or reset, all Q-SNP-RLY relays will default to OFF.

IMPORTANT: Requires that the Relay Control Option (P/N 000001-0032) be added to the SYSTEM 3505 Prism LX to operate

Dsc00128a Q-SNP-EOL-OC  ZN IDM W/OC CNFML CT: Conformal Coated for damp environments Q-SNP-End Of Line and Open Collector Identification Module is an individually addressable multifunctional IDM that can be used as a supervised End of Line input module to monitor dry contact closures and or as an open collector output module to provide a digital output to indicating LEDs etc.  Features include a Snap-on 10 pin Plug that allows easy snap in installation and testing.
Tripple IDM Mother Bd Rev B Top SNP-3 Motherboard: Three slot motherboard to accommodate any three SNP series IDM devices.  Include Wiedmuller type removable connectors for input or output wiring.  Fits in some 4x4 electrical boxes purchased separately. SNP-IDMs are not included and must be purchased separately.
SNP-16 MOTHER BOARD 1 SNP-16 Motherboard: Sixteen slot motherboard on standard 19” x 3.5” rack mount sheet metal to accommodate any sixteen SNP series IDM devices.  Includes Wiedmuller type removable connectors for input or output wiring.  SNP-IDMs are not included and must be purchased separately
TCU-8 RevC Top Q-MUX TCU-8 NODE: The Q-Mux Node is the central polling controller.  It sends commands to and receives data from the ID modules and, in turn, sends data to and receives commands from the SYSTEM 3505/3505 PRISM LX.  Up to 32 Q-Mux Nodes may be installed in one system.  Total wire run from the SYSTEMS 3505/3505 PRISM LX to the last Q-Mux Node is 5,000 ft. with 24 AWG.  The Q-Mux node is shipped pre-programmed to address #1. Nodes address is set using the Q-Mux Node Test & Utility Software P/N 010001-0109.NOTE: 12-volt 300Ma (uses about 100Ma, needs 300Ma to detect short on IDM buss) power source is required.  Dry contact input for AC, DC and Tamper included.
Octal RS_485 RevB Top

Octal RS-485 CARD WITH RX ISOLATION: This optional SYSTEM 3505 Config card replaces the single RS-485 communications from the SYSTEM 3505/3505 PRISM LX COM ports 1, 2 or 3 to the Q-MUX Node(s) to eight independent and lightning protected channels.  Thus an open or short on any single channel will not interfere with the operation of any other channel.  The user can assign any Q-MUX Node to operate on any of the 8 channels and divide up to 32 Nodes to operate over any selected channel.

NOTES: The Octal Card can be used in lieu of the 32 Line Driver Rack and RS-485 Line Driver Cards when 8 or less isolated communication lines are needed.  This also eliminates the need to order Style 3 RS-485 line driver cards that would normally be installed in the 32 line driver rack. The Q-MUX option available at additional cost.
